约克夏
约克夏梗因产于英国东北部约克郡而得名，故又称约克郡梗、约瑟犬、约瑟猩。约克夏梗身材娇小，体形仅次于吉娃娃小型犬，被毛柔滑如丝，如少女秀发，由头颈、躯干倾泻而下，光彩夺目。约克夏梗的头部经常用丝带装饰，并拥有梗类调皮的性格。拥有“上流贵妇人香闺”般的魅力。早在维多利亚女王时代，它就是种时髦的宠物，深得男女老幼的喜爱，在犬界的地位十分巩固。亦是目前世界上最受欢迎的品种之一。该犬因产于英国的约克夏地区而得名，有100多年的历史。它曾一度被数次改良，在当地是工人和农民作为捕鼠的犬种，极受重视。初期的品种远比现今的体型大，据说那些约克夏梗改良成功的英国北方工人，因为不愿把配种成功的秘密泄漏给那些以赚钱为目的的人，所以没有留下任何配种纪录。实际上有些苏格兰人南下到约克夏毛织厂找工作时，随身携带了斯开岛梗等各种梗类犬一起前往，后来这些梗和当地类似梗的土著犬异种交配成约克夏梗。另外本犬也含有玛尔济斯犬、黑褐梗、曼彻斯特梗、短脚长毛梗的血液。
